During the summer we traveled up through Britain to Edinburgh, we passed through Oakham one night and wandered round looking for somewhere to eat, having looked at the menu we decided to eat with you.

We went to some good bad and indifferent restaurants over the fortnight, the night after we left you we stayed at a famous country house hotel in the lake district, renowned for its food, it has beautiful views and the food was excellent. However it wasn't a patch on the meal we had with you.

When you come across a place that serves great food unexpectedly it always makes it so much more pleasurable. We really enjoyed your cooking which was accomplished and to the finest standards. Also it was not presented with the self regarding "Hauteur" that some restaurants have where you feel you are being hosted by the gestapo.

Congratulations on running a fine business, if we lived nearer we would call in regularly.

Thank you for a jewel of a meal.
